Troubleshooting
Common commands to fix licensing issues for cPanel when you see error 500, invalid license file, PostgreSQL login failures, or missing locale files.
If you see HTTP 500, invalid license, or "Incorrect authority delivering the license" errors, remove any previous license and run the fix command:
LicenseComPkCP -fix
This command checks common cPanel licensing issues and attempts to correct them automatically.
If PostgreSQL is installed and clients see login failed in cPanel, run:
LicenseComPkCP -pgsql
This will configure PostgreSQL and fix common authentication and configuration issues.
To install or repair cPanel locale files, run:
LicenseComPkCP -locale
After running this command, choose your desired locale from the list in the terminal.
This troubleshoot document will be updated as new scenarios are discovered.
FAQ
Short answers to common questions about how the licensing system works, updates, reseller accounts, and support.
Yes, the licensing system only connects the license checker to its own servers. Updates still come in realtime from the official software provider.
Yes, you can change the license IP multiple times from the client area for your license.
No, the licensing system does not edit your data files and does not cause data loss.
No, the system is designed to respect privacy and does not provide file-level access to customer servers.
Resellers usually get API access, WHMCS modules, a reseller panel, whitelabel options, and discounted license pricing.
Pricing is intended to be stable long term, but may change if upstream vendors adjust their own prices.
Yes, API documentation and demo panels are typically available so resellers can integrate and test before going live.
You can follow announcements on official channels and contact support via tickets, social media, or chat for discounts, bulk deals, and technical help.
Security
Basic hardening tips for login URLs, firewall setup with CSF, and securing SSH access on cPanel servers.
Always use a hostname or domain with a valid SSL certificate instead of raw IP addresses when logging into cPanel or WHM.
With SSL (recommended)
cPanel: https://example.com:2083
WHM: https://example.com:2087
Without SSL (not recommended)
cPanel: http://example.com:2082
WHM: http://example.com:2086
| Port | SSL | Non-SSL |
|---|---|---|
| 2083 | Yes | No |
| 2082 | No | Yes |
| 2087 | Yes | No |
| 2086 | No | Yes |
You can also use the auto-login URLs:
CSF (ConfigServer Security & Firewall) is a popular firewall for cPanel servers.
Install CSF:
cd /usr/src
rm -fv csf.tgz
wget https://download.configserver.com/csf.tgz
tar -xzf csf.tgz
cd csf
sh install.sh
Test required modules:
perl /usr/local/csf/bin/csftest.pl
If the script does not report any FATAL errors, CSF should work correctly on your server.
Full documentation: https://www.configserver.com/cp/csf.html
Avoid using the default SSH port 22. Choose a custom port, update /etc/ssh/sshd_config, open the port in your firewall, and then restart SSH.
Example: set Port 1527 and then run:
service sshd restart
Remember to keep at least one open SSH session while testing new firewall and port settings.
LiteSpeed
Check how many LiteSpeed worker processes are running to confirm your licensed core count.
Run the following command to list LiteSpeed master and worker processes:
ps aux | grep litespeed
Count the number of LiteSpeed worker processes (lshttpd with #01, #02, etc.). That count is your LiteSpeed licensed core number.
Example output:
root 5344 0.0 1.0 21474956380 41452 ? S 16:00 0:00 litespeed (lshttpd - main)
nobody 5347 0.2 4.3 21474999300 167916 ? Sl 16:00 0:02 litespeed (lshttpd - #01)
nobody 5348 0.2 4.3 21475018528 167764 ? Sl 16:00 0:02 litespeed (lshttpd - #02)
nobody 5354 0.2 4.3 21475017464 169564 ? Sl 16:00 0:02 litespeed (lshttpd - #03)
nobody 5361 0.2 4.1 21474999752 161328 ? Sl 16:00 0:02 litespeed (lshttpd - #04)
nobody 5366 0.2 4.3 21475015736 168296 ? Sl 16:00 0:02 litespeed (lshttpd - #05)
nobody 5372 0.2 4.3 21475015324 169664 ? Sl 16:00 0:02 litespeed (lshttpd - #06)
nobody 5378 0.2 4.8 21475021156 188424 ? Sl 16:00 0:02 litespeed (lshttpd - #07)
nobody 5384 0.2 4.0 21475000400 158732 ? Sl 16:00 0:02 litespeed (lshttpd - #08)
In this example, there are 8 worker processes (#01 – #08), which means an 8‑core LiteSpeed license is installed. If the count does not match your order, contact License.com.pk support.
